Mystery Ankle pain

I have had a very painful ankle for nearly 6 weeks now. I stepped into a drain hole just before i noticed i hurt my shin but not pain bruise or swelling on ankle or foot. Over the next week or so i began a limp. The limp became worse, by the third week i could hardly walk and went to doctor. Doctor sent e home to rest and elevate and ice. I ahd already done all this but carried on for another week. It got worse. I went to physio twice and he suggested xray and ultrasound to invetigate. It came back with a slight lesion on bone and a ganglion cyst near ankle. Doctor sais No this wont be the pain and sent me to a podiatrist. Podiatrist gave me insoles and a compression sock, but also noted the radiologist wrote on my report maybe onset of adhesive capsulitis? I went back to doctor and he has referred me to a sports physician so im waiting for appointment. Being my 6th week in pain and also being 6 months pregnat Im getting really worrioed with this mystery pain. Im fully on cruthches and cannot bear any weight on my ankle. Any thoughts or advice? Can onle take paracetamol.

Philippa,
How inconvenient to have this happen during a pregnancy.
My first thought is how are you protecting your ankle during an uncertain time while waiting for further medical diagnosis and treatment? Did any of your practitioners recommend wearing a CAM boot whilst using crutches to get around? Or even an ankle brace?
Since you did not exhibit symptoms of an ankle sprain (swelling and bruising) that might be ruled out.
I'm not familiar with any of the tentative diagnostic answers your practitioners gave you, so I can't offer any advice.
My main concern would be to protect ankle from further injury until you get an expert diagnosis and treatment plan.
