Mystery foot/ankle problem

About a month ago I started experiencing weird pain in my foot. To start with it felt stiff like it wouldn’t move like it was supposed to which turned in to a stinging burning pain. Only when I walked or moved it a certain way. Occasionally I would get the pain when doing nothing. I don’t remember hurting it as such but I do vaguely remember twisting over on it whilst walking across a parking lot.

It hurts at the outside of my foot just below my ankle.

After a week I went to the dr who suggested it could be a stress fracture. She wrapped it in an ace wrap gave me crutches and told me not to weight bear for about 4 days and then walk on it to see how it was. My husband was away and I have 2 kids and 3 dogs so it was impossible but I tried.

A few days passed and I decided to go back to the dr and saw somebody else. She sent me for a X-ray and the radiographer said there was nothing there. The dr then looked and saw a line that she said shouldn’t be there. Diagnosis was a closed avulsion fracture of distal end of right fibula. They gave me a walking boot and referred me to orthopedics.

They called me up and said after looking at your X-rays we want you to come in. So fast forward to last Wednesday when I go and see this PA who was horrible. She made me feel like I was wasting her time. She couldn’t see anything on the X-ray (i saw the line myself) she messed with my foot and touched it and it hurt for ages afterwards but I didn’t feel the pain when she was doing it. Tried to get me to stand on my tiptoes on just that foot and I couldn’t do it. She decided that it must be perineal Tendonitis. Which I have searched and seems to heal in less than a month and is what runners get. I’m not athletic i and don’t run!! She told me to wear boot and return in 3 weeks.

So now tonight I’m sat doing nothing and I’m in agony with my stupid foot. Every so often i get a sudden strong pain there that’s had me yelling out and squeezing things. The stinging pain is gone and this is probably worse.

I don’t know what to do. I’ve never had a fracture or anything at all like this ever. So I’m questioning the 2nd dr I saw who saw the small line on my X-ray. I don’t know what it should feel like to be the fracture or the Tendonitis. If anybody can describe the pain of either of these conditions it would be so helpful for me.

I’m completely frustrated with it. I just want to know exactly what is wrong so I can fix it.
