Mystery illness / forced bupring / trouble breathing / feeling of something stuck in throat

Hi everyone,

I have been suffering from this mystery illness that has gotten progressively worse over the past 3-4 months. I have had a nasal endoscopy done and am in the process of trying to get an upper endoscopy done.

I have the feeling of acid reflux, as I experience the acid and burning sensation in my chest and am currently taking antacids for it. However, what those medicines have not been helping me with is the feelings of having something constantly in my throat, feeling like my throat is strained all the time (not in a sore throat sense, not sure how else to describe it) and forced burping to try and remove the feeling that there is air or something trapped in my throat.

With all of that has come with the feeling of difficulty breathing and swallowing. I have no history of anxiety, and I do not believe it is the chase as I have read on various other forums.

Anyone else having these issues or anything similar? I am patiently waiting for the appointments to come and work their course, but I am also trying to get an idea of what would be getting on so that I can have some self closure on it, as well as something to possibly bring up to a GI that could help them solve the issue.

Thanks everyone!

Hey, I’m actually experiencing the same! From what I have read from others going through something similar is that it is called “globus sensation” an the scariest part that everyone is most concerned with is that none of their doctors have been able to help them in any way besides “try not to think of it” but literally it’s consuming my whole thought process! I have an appointment with the ent specialist in a week an im praying it’s nothing serious 🙏🏽 I’ll be praying for you as well as I know this is a very difficult thing to deal with an it makes me very depressed.. I’ve had blood work come back normal.. ct scans come back normal as well as a contrast scan also normal.. not knowing is the scariest part an brings on my anxiety to the extreme! The only advice I can give is to try an relax as much as possible as it makes it worse the more you panic also change the way you eat.. I’ve had to cut out all my favorite things unfortunately 🙄😒 keep us posted! I hope you feel better.. I’ll post again after my doctors visit in 6 days.. best of luck to you..
