This lump appeared quite quickly on my forearm about 3 months ago and has stayed the same since – it's quite solid, a bit scaly, doesn't bleed or itch, and usually has 3 or 4 black hairs growing out of it which I've plucked off because I don't like the look of them! Is it an actinic keratosis I wonder (I've had two elsewhere) or something else?

See your doctor. Actinic keratoses can turn into other problems.
