Nail discoloration

So I have these weird dark pink crescents near the cuticle of all my nails. I don't see them on my toes and they only appeared about a month ago. I do cardio every other day and have no other problems. What do you guys think? I was sick two months ago with the flu. Saw some sites that said this could be a liver/kidney problem, but I have no other symptoms. The doctor suspected pneumonia when I had the flu and prescribed Amoxicillin-Potassium clavulanate. In addition, I also took Dayquil (acetaminophen). Maybe there was a drug reaction between these drugs? The dark crescents appear to have grown longer than before.

Here are some pictures.

hi, i have this too but never thought anything of it, just assumed it was normal! i am type 1 diabetic and no one has mentioned about them and my kidney and liver function is fine too

Well I hope this isn't a sign of diabetes. I'm six feet tall and only weigh 160 lbs. I think if I had diabetes, other symptoms would have shown before my nails started to show signs.

Have you done any blood tests to confirm normal function of your liver/kidneys? I saw a site where it said chronic kidney disease sometimes never show symptoms until you have kidney failure. Having diabetes also increases your risk of getting kidney disease according to some sites.

I am fairly sure those two drugs would not cause this as they are safe to take together. My gut feeling is that this is new nail growing after your body was subjected to an illness. Strangely nails can grow slightly faster after an illness. As long as you feel well then I dont think there is any cause for worry.

Thank you for replying. What do you mean by a new set of nails growing in? The darker shade of pink seems to be my nail bed having this color and not the nails itself. When I apply pressure to my nails, they turn white and the darker shade is not visible and comes back when I let go. Also, I'm an Asian male 18 years old 160 lbs and 6'0.
