Naltrexone and Campral

Hi all! What a beautiful day, the sun is shining and "the normals"(not us) are enjoying being outside..bbqs, drinking outside pubs, etc.just enjoying a few glasses of wine, beer or whatever, and it's so annoying. Well that has been me for 4 years, hating the fact that I couldn't do that anymore..
Good news I think I can now due to naltrexone. I just can't believe how amazing this drug is. The last few days I've been on the drink with naltrexone taken correctly and I can honestly say that I haven't been able to drink more than 3/4 bottle of white wine. Today I took tablet at 1.00, it's now 5.45 and I've only had half bottle..I am so glad I found this forum as I'm beginning to think I might be able to go out socialising and holidays, which I haven't been able to do for years..2 be cont...

I was taking the Selincro/Nalmefene for 9 weeks. I reduced my Alcohol Units (daily), by more than half. I did have 'blips' along the way !
I really cannot fathom why I don't feel like having a drink... I always felt like having a drink ! I had far too many drinks... as often as possible,TRUTH !!
I feel like it is a Miracle, but I realise that the Medication must have made the change in my brain. That is how it works. Miracle Medication... as long as you COMPLY, work with it, keep to the exact instructions.
Good Luck tomorrow. YOU CAN DO IT !
Blessings,

It's not uncommon to have a few cravings crop up here are there, so if they do crop up at some point, don't be disappointed and don't struggle. Take the tablet, have a drink mindfully, and then you have satisfied that urge and things should return to how they are now. That wouldn't be a failure - it would just be one more step towards your long term goal.
In the meantime, you are becoming a poster girl for this - I might take a little holiday and leave things in your capable hands! Sure you can be as plain-talking as me sometimes, especially now that you can see why it works and want so desperately for it to work for others (just kidding on the holiday, thought it would be nice).
Keep up the GREAT work.

We are not going to know who we are anymore... with all this SOBRIETY in the air !
I usually find it well nigh impossible to motivate myself, at all. I suffer from Depression... among other things. I am trying to regain interest in myself... get up, get dressed each day. Put on some make-up before going to the local shop. I am trying to remember who I was, before the drink took control.
I used to go to the shop with my long coat over my dressing-gown and pyjamas, to buy wine... TRUTH !
I have started to use my anti-wrinkle cream, again ! "Hope springs eternal".
I think I am buying into that " I'm Worth It" scenario... ha, ha !
Give yourself a "Make-over". I'm going to colour my greys, tomorrow.
I think that if you look a bit better, you feel a bit better... then that boosts motivation to do other things.
Let me know how you get on.
We really are worth it !
Blessings, my friend.

The sleep factor is a 'mixed bag'... some nights a bit better... I am not awake ALL NIGHT anymore, thank goodness.
