Narrowing of esophagus

Posted , 2 users are following.

Ok so today I finally had a barium swallow test and as I was in the last step of it which was swallowing a barium pill I swallowed it and it when all the way down until my esophagus and got stuck. My heart dropped and I panicked but the doctor told me to relax because i can choke and that’s actually one of my question.. can you choke with something in your esophagus? Anyways they think I have a bit narrowing of my esophagus or it’s too small but can anyone tell me if it gets worse over time because now I’m too scared to eat the things I can help mee

Really wow that’s fast. I have appointment with gastro doctor Tuesday . Hopefully it goes well but now  I’m too scared to eat the things I could have which is for example cereal. Does narrowing get worse?

    Hi ,

Yes , i believe the narrowing does get worse . So it is important to have the procedure done . My problem was caused from Barrets Esophogus
