Hi
I was wondering if any of you have nasal polyps , no taste or smell and if anything has helped.
fot the past 20 years I have had no smell or taste , three operations ( no help ). The only time ive had a little relief i.e my smell back has been when I take steriods , which last course of 5 days gave me abput 3 days of smell . Nasal sprays just sting or come straight out again as don't seem to be able to get passed conjestion. Sorry for rant , but does get me down when cant even smell grandchildrens nappies when they need a change or my lovely roses.
look forward to any advice
Thank you Anna

Hi, I have polyps too and have had all of my life. I am 58 and had them surgically removed once when I was 16. Pretty much I can breathe okay, but no smell and marginal taste At one point I couldn't breathe either but one day for the hell of it and probably out of frustration, pushed/forced the polyp to the back of sinus cavity. It bled a lot but ever since breathing is not a problem. I wouldn't recommend though. I don't know what to do short of another surgery. it would be so nice to be able to smell again

I totally understand the frustration .Wow pushing the polyp back in ,
Do let me know if you hear of any amazing solution , even if only temporay To smell the Christmas tree this year would be nice .

i did get tonsils out right around age 5. not sure what adenoids are actually. yeah, i just took a q-tip one day out of frustration and just set that thing back of the cavity behind that ridge within the cavity and been able to breathe ever since. i sure will let you know if i discover any solutions. i agree, would be so nice to smell the trees again and all the scents of the season.
