natural lemon juice?

I used to have hot lemon juice once a day. Always thought it was ok, but. read somewhere that it's not good for you if you have Barretts Oesophagus and other such like conditions. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Yes, it is a fact, likewise, I used to drink hot lemon and honey every winter, and whilst I think it helped stave away the colds, it was probably contributing to the increase in barretts as there is still acidity in the lemon juice which is a taboo with Barretts.  Similarly I ate lots of fruit all the time which I thought was being good, but ofcourse the likes of kiwi, orange, pineapple again were all the wrong fruits to be eating.  Unfortunately now you have the condition it is important to avoid the 'bad foods'

    Best wishes

Thank you for answering my query, my food list over time is getting smaller and smaller, so guess no more grapes, in fact guess all fruit is out.

Yes, I'm afraid Grape are out too, but you can eat any Berry fruits , such as strawberriees, blueberries.

I understand your fellings on the food list, it does become very restrictive, but if you find foods that works for you then enjoy!!

Each day I drink at least one cup of grated root ginger with a teaspoon full of Manuka honey.

I know I don't  eat enough fruit so I have started to drink apple juice ( sometimes Cider) instead of orange juice, as yet it has had no adverse effects.

My advice is never eat after 7pm, raise the head of your bed at least a foot off the ground and try not worry as stress is your worst enemy.

Hi there this is where I get totally confused and I'm looking in to doing a nutrition course to help me. Lemon turns to alkaline once n the body, I've had the odd drink of hot lemon in the morning and I feel ok.

Strawberries are also acidic so would avoid them, blueberries are great. I'm thinking of getting a juicer and juicingmainly veg. I'm also going to start having almond milk.

I'm going to call a nutritionist on Monday and hopefully get some advice, I asked the gp if I could see a dietician I was advised that I wasn't diabetic or coeliac. But doesn't barratts have to do with digestion?

Ive had has acid problem from the age of 17 I had a stressful upbringing, food was bland growing up no pasta, no rice, just normal dinners, although they were prob large dinners.

I honestly believe thst that it's something my body is lacking and down to stress.
