i have now been 2plusweeks with no meds.I am taking 375 magnesiumwith calcium vitimin D My worry is that i seem to have quite a distance between readings it is now averaging 180/75 when resting i dont take it after ive been moving around because i dont want the reading to worry me as i know in my case any stress at all shoots up my reading.my question really is should i be worried and if i do go back on a low dose of med can i still carry on with the magnesium

That abnormal difference is called Pulse Pressure these days. It's not supposed to be more than 40. I have a similar problem to yours, but not as bad. A pulse pressure of 105 is way too high if it's like that all the time. Mine produces an occasional spike of 100 but is normally under 70.
It's my understanding that magnesium levels only build up very slowly in the body and it takes months for it to have any real effect. I'm therefore guessing it would be safe for you to continue magnesium with a small dose of meds, providing you're monitoring your BP every day. I'm also guessing you're taking the same brand of magnesium as me, given the precise dose of 375mg you mention. That dose is made up of two tablets, so why not take just one while you re-start your meds, to see how things go?
I definitely think you need to re-start meds, with or without magnesium, with a BP of 180/75, as it looks as if your systolic has gone up in comparison with your earlier post.

its down to 150/75 this morning when resting so thats better .I have noticed that even watching some things on the telly can give me a high reading?I probably need to do relaxation or meditate.I will go to docs next week and ask for a low dose of losarton lets see what happens.

For anyone who's in the UK only you can get magnesium oxide at high street chemist B***s in the format of 375mg per two tablets per day. You can also find calcium with or without vitamin D3 or a combination of all three at the same store - as well as a combi of calcium, vit D3 and vit K1. However, K1 is generally considered not to be much use. If you're looking for active vit K - which facilitates D3 absorption - go for K2 at H&B (also UK).
