In general the younger u r the quicker the healing process. I'm 68 & 11wpo
can walk ok though still not able to put the socks on without a sock putter onner but that's probably my stiff oa back

I am also telling anyone who has this surgery to be sure and order the hip replacement aids. It will save you lots of tears and frustration. They will give you so much independence. I waited until I was 9 weeks into this and my life is so much easier and better now just from a few aids.

I remember one of the physios at the hospital saying that age itself doesn't really factor into recovery; it's more about attitude and following the advice you've been given.
