I am trying to find the best supplements to take for anti-inflammatory and for calcium. Does anyone know anything about Nature Sunshine supplements. I have talk to 3 different naturopath doctors and they all seem to push their product they sell. How do we know what is best??

There is a site called Consumer Lab. They test supplements for actual content , purity and the research on them. This is a non profit organization but I think a membership is required.

Personally I don't feel most supplements are worth it - you just pee it all out and down the toilet pan!
However - one basic rule: buy only from well known sources and NEVER from an unknown site online. Supplements are not monitored and tested - your only protection is the name of the supplier.

Decide what you need and base your choice on that. I read that calcium hydroxyapatite is more easily absorbed by people on pred so that is the supplement I take. I actually take 2/3 the recommended daily dose. It happens to include a number of the other micronutrients we need which I'm fine with, but I do take extra Vitamin D3 and K2 as well. Anything else I take is to help with my osteoarthritis (glucosamine , B vitamin complex which I take alternate days, alternating with a complete E capsule). I think supplements are a good idea in North America because our food supply is now so corrupted. I was amazed at the great quality of the food when on a recent trip to Europe. I do my best here, but it's not easy. So much of the year our food is imported from places like the California broccoli desert, etc.
