Nausea....

Hi folks.....It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but I've got a question and a quick update.

1st) I'm in the process of tapering (again).....I'm at 10.5mg and have been for about 1wk. the past several days, I've been waking up feeling terribly nauseous. about 20-30m after I take the pred, I seem to feel better. so far, no other symptoms! does this sound familiar to anyone else?

Also, I'm in one of those "it never rains, it pours" fazes.

last week I had another ct scan as my pulmonologist is baffled why I'm having more problems with my shortness of breath. she tested for a lung clot and thank God it came back clear. however, what they DID find was a nodule on my thyroid (which was not even on my radar!).

now, I've got yet another appointment with a new doc to see what that's all about!

UGHhhh.....it's always something and as usual I'm anxious.

I hope all you fine folks are doing well and had a good holiday season.

I've missed ya!!

take care, Lynda

    Hi there Lynda

what a lovely surprise to see you posting again Dear.. but sorry to read that you are holidaying

most of the time passing scans and doctors Oh gosh, you certainly are having a bit of a rough

    time at the moment ...

Hope that you will get yourself off to see a head and neck surgeon ( ENT) regarding your thyroid .

glad to read that you are reducing the pred and as soon as you are off it completely your mood and outlook will be much better ..

Still many problems with this forum , but it will eventually get its self sorted i hope

keep in touch and let me know how you are getting on ... cyber hugs

Hi Lynda, sorry to hear that you're having problems with breathlessness. I've been having similar problems for the last year (though I'm asthmatic which complicates things). I don't have any suggestions for you other than to say keep pressing for answers, there must be a reason. Unless its linked to your thyroid. My best wishes too you.

Many years ago when she was still quite young my sister had an op to remove a small cyst on her thyroid. It meant that part of the gland went, too, but the good news is that she has never had any further problems. She does have to take thyroxin and I know she has never had to increase the dose. She was diagnosed with PMR fourteen months ago and her reductions are going ok although she has had the all too common flares around the 8 mg. dose.

Hope you soon get reassurance. One thing at a time is more than enough.

    Lynda -

I find when I am too low a dose I wake up feeling nauseous and it slowly resolves after taking my morning dose.

hi rocketman....so did you just stick it out with the same dose, or did you up it?

Usually my nausea would be accompanied by an increase in some other symptoms too. If that was the case then I would usually increase.

Funny that it will be a year this august when they found mine, said i was to have another ct scan to see if it had changed.

my doctor thinks its due to methatrexate, but the specialist says not
