Nausea and dizziness

Hello

Ive been suffering from extreme dizziness and Nausea for about 4 months now, it started when i was at the gym one day, went about my usual day etc... got home laid down on my couch for about 10 minutes watching youtube on my phone, i sat up and out of nowhere i got really bad Nausea, too the point i had too take 2 days off work because i felt so sick and was vomitting, after a few days it went away, about a week later i returned to the gym feeling completely fine did my workout etc... but half way through i started getting woozy and my head felt like it was spinning, about 10 mins later it got the point where i felt like i was gonna faint, my heart started racing, i started sweating like i had taken a dip in a pool and could barely move because i was so dizzy, again it put me out of work for a few days, a month past and the Nausea and dizziness started making its way into my everyday life, work etc... (im a warehousing supervisor) i went to the Doc and got a MRI and X-ray on my jaw (jaw because the doc believed i had TMJ) and my head, results came back fine and same with my blood tests so the DOC did some maneuvers etc.. and diagnosed it as BPPV and told me it would eventually past within a month or two, 4 months have now passed and i still have the Nausea, but it only occurs when i workout (lifting weights) other then that it doesn't affect my everyday life anymore, what confuses me a little is if weightlifting triggers my Vertigo shouldn't it affect my other hobbies? I also skateboard and BMX which puts me in alot more awkward head positions then weightlifting and that has absolutely no affect on my vertigo. I did a little research on other possible causes or people with the same problem but couldn't find any, anyone got any idea? i do get the occasional high pitch ringer in my left ear but nothing that would suggest it being Meniere's disease.

Have you considered PPPD( functional dizziness) I had to stop going to the gym because of vertigo.. I've just been diagnosed with PPPD.. the world health organisation defines it as " persistent non-vertiginous dizziness, unsteadiness,or both lasting three months or more" ... do you spin or does the room spin? Or does it feel more like your on a boat?

It feels more like the room spins, i wouldn't be able too tell you if its like being on a boat though, never been on one ever haha, it only occurs when i go too the gym, 2 years of weight training and then out of no where it all comes crashing down, gone from 84kg down to 70KG in the matter of months and its tearing me apart because lifting is what i love and i can't get my head around whats causing the Nausea and dizziness, i have tried medication but none of it seems to do anything to help the Nausea or dizziness and i did perform the eplay maneuver for a few weeks which did absolutely nothing. its a little depressing not being able to do what i enjoy and having no answers for why i am the way i am.

also i noticed after doing some research on PPPV it usually only affects most people aged 25 or older, I'm only 19.

It's sure does sound like it's vertigo..  I wouldn't worry about the age thing, it's only a guide line...medication and eplay manoeuvre didn't work for me either.. the only thing that's given me any relief was going to see a chiropractor.. I'm not sure what country you live in.. I live in Australia

chiropractor's here specialise with vertigo.. if it sound's good I can tell you what treatment I received...

and was just wondering if your gym has bright lights?

It  also sounds like you may have had a panic attack the first time you had vertigo at the gym.. I know this may sound stupid but have you tried to do weights at home?

Gym has dull lights and i have tried working out at home, same result, starts off fine then gets progressively worse the longer i work out. I also live in Australia, i had been going to a chiropractor my whole life up until about age 16 for things like postural issues and severe headaches and migraines etc.. past few years i just got tired of going and the gym fixed my headaches and postural issues. I might try to see a Chiropractor again.

So it happens with anaerobic activity (weight lifting). I had this happen once years ago, and my Dr told me it was a vasovagal response. A sudden drop in BP. If it's only happening with lifting, I'm surpised your Dr didn't recommend wearing a cardiac event monitor to see exactly what is going on during that time period. I've had to wear them several times, and nothing sinister was ever found.

Also, if your BP normally is on the low side, and you are even slightly dehydrated, that can cause dizziness. As can hypoglycemia- if you are not consuming at least some carbs abt 20min before working out, that can be an issue.
