Nausea & Fibroids?

Hi, everyone. Just had a question for the ladies with fibroids. I’ve recently been having a lot of digestive issues in particular nausea, bloating and constipation including acid reflux symptoms. So I recently had a Ultrasound and CT scan done and they found I had fibroids. But I recently had a consultation with a OBGYN surgeon, and he said most of these symptoms are not related to uterine fibroids. Has anyone else had nausea and GI issues from their fibroids? Please help!!!

    Hi Denise,

I had nausea, gastric probs, constipation and every other possible side effect from a large fibroid (18x14x13cm) attached to the outside of my womb. the effects have resolved now and i'm 8 weeks post open myomectomy. Listen to your body and rest when you can because fibroids take a lot of energy and nutrients to grow and lead to inflammation and strain on your whole body. I felt like i couldn't eat with mine because it put pressure on the rest of my organs. I now realise that its been so long since ive felt this good and i'm anaemic after surgery! 😃 hang in there and you will beat it xx

    hi there,

I had 10cm fibroid for which I had done an embolisation about 1 year an a half ago. even though my situation has improved dramatically and despite been told that the bloating and nausea weren't coming from it I still stand by the fact that they were fibroid related specially around having my periods o before them.

I finally had to go to a private specialist for these symptoms and among other tablet that needs to be prescribed he recommended water retention tablets before around getting my period and during and it really help.

I am convinced it is related.

Hi there, I have been experiencing similar symptoms but didn't make a direct link with my fibroids. However, I guess it could all be hormone related as gut health does have an impact on metabolism and how hormones are processed by the body. For those of you who have been prescribed medications to ease symptoms (either of fibroids or GI issues) may I ask what these are? I am currently taking a high-quality vitamin and mineral supplement, plus extra iron, magnesium and essential fatty acids, and herbal remedies chasteberry (agnus castus) for hormone regulation and slippery elm for nausea, reflux and ulcerative colitis. My symptoms seem to be slowly improving but I don't think there are any quick fixes and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another. I'd be keen to know what others among you have found works though...?
