Nausea, reflux and chest pain - 1 year post gallblader removal (cholecystectomy)

Last year I made what seems to be the worst decision of my life: I had my gallblader removed (on May 2021). I had stones but minimal symptoms (nausea here and there and pain once every few months). The doctors told me it was better to get it out before I started to develop symptoms and I believed them. Now, I wish I had waited.

After the surgery I had about 6 months of constant pain and nausea that wasn't there before, I would feel terrible nausea every-time I ate, and also when I would go to the bathroom (TMI, sorry).

I did have diarrhea the first month, but that seemed to go away quickly. I quickly started developing what we think might be reflux, and that has stayed with me. I also started having chest pains that would wake me up in the middle of the night, one of which was so intense I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. My doctor said it was probably a esophageal spasm, related to the acid reflux he suspects I have.

Tests I've had: endoscopy (all seemed o.k. with "the pipes" but I had gastritis), MRI (all looked good) and abdominal ultrasound (nothing to worry there). Last week I had also a Manometry and was supposed to do a 24 hour PH test, but the Manometry was very traumatic and I couldn't go trough with the 24 hour PH test.

Medicines I have tried: omeprazole (works sometimes, not all the time, and the second I stop it, the reflux comes back with vengeance) and taking probiotics. I have read about bile sequestrans but my doctor said that since there was no bile in the endoscopy, then it must not be a bile problem.

My current situation: I have nausea all the time, reflux, chest pain that wakes me up a night and sometimes pooping more often (usually I go once a day but some days I don't eat very good and I end up going like 5 times, no diarrhea tho!). I have a low-fat diet (always have) and I eat relatively good, I think. I don't smoke, and I don't drink. I don't drink coffee any-more either.

I guess I just wanted to know if someone has had all these symptoms that continue one year after the operation, and if you found a solution. I am so depressed, I can't eat anything without feeling sick, not plain boring stuff. 😦
