Nearly failingYou will

i had my last zopiclone at the beginning of 2016. Went cold turkey and have discussed this in various forums. Thought I was doing so well BUT an advert popped up in my email to buy some online. Well, I was sorely tempted but thought I would never go down that route again.

I haven't finished my story but pressed wrong button. How could I feel so weak as to nearly start taking them again? I am ashamed BUT I resisted and deleted email and all its contents and contacts. Thank goodness but felt so tempted.

has anyone else started them again? Don't if you can avoid it. It is hard and I could weep.

Hi Gillian, well done you! You should be extremely proud of yourself. I too went cold turkey 7th January 2015 after approx 15 years. I had a couple of very rough weeks but I was free! Felt fabulous even though my sleep pattern is erratic to say the least which is why I was prescribed them initially. Unfortunately I was hospitalised in April for 8 days and could not sleep on the ward so i asked asked for zop drops and I was right back on the merry go round. Buying online as GPs don't prescribe as they used to. So im on my 2nd week of freedom again, not getting much sleep, awaken many times when I do eventually drop off sometimes it takes up to 5-6am. And my goodness, what vivid, wild scary dreams!!!! I must persevere and 'learn' how to sleep. I have a chronic autoimmune disease which brings so much pain but I'm tired of being a zop junkie. I'm so happy that you resisted temptation ☺

I've been off zop for 5 night now. After being on for 9 months. Past 5 nights have been tough. I went from 7.5 for 7 month to 3.75 for 2 months. How long was it hard for when first quitting. My sleeps are so restless. I feel like I'm conscious laying there with my eyes closed.

Been off them over 2 weeks now. Still think about them. But I made my wife hide the remaining amount I have so I force myself to do without it. I feel more alert in the day and less drowsy throughout the day. Going to sleep initially is a struggle but I find its getting easier each day.

Just chiming in with my experience being off zopiclone. I have been off these well over a year now, and am sleeping really really well. The longing is still there but I think less about it for sure. I'm posting today because I saw an email about your discussion in my gmail account. Otherwise, I don't think about it much anymore, and I fall asleep easily. The problem arises when I travel, then there is some panic, but I travelled this winter and I managed some sleep away from home.

It's a struggle for sure. Please be careful ordering online. I decided to stop and end my dependence because i was simply tired of spending so much time trying to acquire these drugs, and watching the mail. I could no longer bear the anxiety of ordering prescription medicine online.

My physican as many others had decided he would no longer would be prescribing sleeping pills. I became obsessed with the post office and the deliveries, and it's just a miserable way to live. It takes at least one year to feel really well, so please just take it one day at a time, it's the only way to get through this.
