Nearly suicidal

I am so glad I found this place, what a relief. I thought I was going mad. I was diagnosed with hbp about 2 years ago. After trial and error I was on Indapamide, ramapril and amlodipine. Shortly after I began the insomnia. It wasn't too bad at first and a visit to docs got me 14 sleeping tablets and a self help leaflet. Then the joint aches started. Again, doc said no it was not a side effect. I have soldiered on for a year plus. Last month or so I have had no sleep, I feel wide awake all the time. Hips ache so much I can hardly walk some days. Lethargic and irritable all the time. This morning in desperation I thought the only thing I could think of to coincide with the start of this was the bp tablets. So I stopped the amlodipine . We will wait and see if it's the culprit. So  glad I am not the only one with problems.

    .

Doctors work from the TYPICAL results of medications.

    .

Now, What would happen if we were ALL obliged to wear the SAME TYPICAL clothing and shoe sizes ? ?

    .

THERE you have the problem !

I can understand they have to have a starting point, but shouldn't they have some idea of various side effects and if a patient visits with a problem, shouldn't they put 2 and 2 together? To be honest I think my doc is great but what he will say at next visit which I shall get ASAP, I don't know.

g, you are asking the same questions which I have been asking to no avail. . My problems are few compared with, say, my wife -- So I personally can exercise the luxury of no medications at present -- But there are a couple of threats down the pike at uncertain distances. . I will rely on my research and my own judgment -- which has not always been good, but that's the hand we all have been dealt.
