    Hi Kaye,

I found the waiting beforehand was the worst part. Once the day comes you don't have time to be worried. Just get to the hospital & let them take over.

They are used to people being scared, everyone is. Once the op is over it's just a matter of time til you're back home.

Sounds like you have everything organised. Be prepared to have good days & bad days. Any questions you have can be answered on here. Good luck.

Thank you val, can't wait for the good days, I know there will be bad days , have a lot of bad days now, can't walk far, and the pain is awful which reduces me to tears quite often.

I know what you mean about the pain but honestly that will have gone as soon as you have had the op. The pain after is totally different and a lot more bearable. I'm 14weeks post op now & almost forgotten how bad it was.

The first few weeks aren't easy but it gets better all the time.

Hi Kaye , try not to be scared , I can say that now but it's nowhere hear as bad as you might be thinking. I had a bilateral hip replacement nearly 9 weeks ago now and all is well . What part of the country do you live , I'm in mid Wales . The first few weeks are probably the hardest but from then on its gets easier . I've started walking my dogs on my own again which is fab ! Just take it easy and rest whenever you feel the need . I 'm having physio this week which I'm hoping will help with a bit of stiffness , please let me know how you get on ,I get excited to hear from another double I think we are few and far between , all the best for Thursday , hugs , Ruth

    Hi Kaye,

the time is just flying by! It will soon be Thursday and our ops will hopefully be done by this time of the day. Do you have to go into hospital early? I have to be in by 7, and have been told that I will be on the morning list. I've had my bag packed for ages now, and like you, think I've got everything in order, etc.

You are not alone. I feel anxious, scared, overwhelmed one minute, then the next, fairly calm and accepting of the situation the next. It's all quite surreal really. But I know that my heart will be in my mouth on Thursday morning, and my blood pressure through the roof!!

Take care and keep in contact. 😃😃😃

Good luck Kaye with your op, it is so good on the other side but you do have to give it time, just rest and relax after and you'll be fine. I found I wanted to walk around as it felt better, but I did only have 1 hip done.
