Nearly week7 on prozac fluxotine feel weak shakey dizzy will this go away

I'm really struggling feel better than I did but I'm nearly week 7 now and still feel constantly on edge weak dizzy feel very low because of it I'm trying everything to help but it just won't go away Is this normal ?

    Hi Jane, have you gone back to your doctor to tell them? Fluoxetine helps a lot of people but for others like me we could not tolerate it. I had extreme dizzyness, awful shakes and generally felt so bad my doctor took me off them. After 7 weeks the side effects should have worn off so maybe this drug is not working for you? I am no expert though and can only relay my personal experience. Do you feel any better or worse since you started?

      I tried 2 other AD before this one I don't want to change again because all the side effects have been hell im in contact with my doc but I'm not keen on the idea of starting all over again I'm a single mum have not much support so I don't want my kids seeing me sick again just horrible when ya feel so weak and shaky all the time and nervous I'm doing more now than have done can I ask have you swapped onto a different AD ?x

      Hi Jane, I was prescribed amitriptyline some time ago for pain but they used to prescribe them for anxiety, I’ve gone back to those. We are all different though what works for one doesn’t always work for another, good luck and I hope they start working for you soon x

       Venlafaxin and trazodone Susan trazodone I done 3 weeks and venlafaxin I was about 4 months Hun x

    Hi Hun it sometimes takes time to get rid of the effects but does sound like you may need a little increase xx

      My doc won't up them until everything settles I'm just scared in case it doesn't settle now I been unwell for so long although I'm doing more than I have the last couple of weeks I'm scared to up them as well in case the side effects go as bad as they was and thanks for reply xx

      Jane, are you the one that switched from Flu to Prozac?  If so, I was hoping the change would work for you.

      Yes I understand your worried hun the side effects are rough maybe give it another couple of weeks and if still no improvement bite the bullet and up them Hun xx

      Thanks Jessica I will do I'm going to give it 8 weeks see if it improves I have done this long so just going to have to be patient thank you so much for your advice much appreciated Hun how are you getting on Hun did you change your meds ?xx

    I am beginning week 9 and feel the same and more. From my extensive reading, I think this can be normal.

      Yes Nancy I swapped over from fluxotine to prozac I wouldn't say it's made much difference to be honest Hun xx

      Yes Jane, I’ll keep you posted and please do the same. I had four reasonable days last week, but this week has been bad. We went on a road trip as I have I feel better in  a moving car and after 8 pm. I haven’t been out of the bed since I got back  on the trip my anxiety was  a 2 out of 10 and depression was 3/10.  I see the  psych dr next week. Today starts week 9 on 20 mg  week 21 on Flu. 

      I think you have  been so strong to hav managed with two children and do hope you turn that corner soon.
