neck and shoulder pain and hard lumps

My friend is in her early 30's, female. For years, on and off she has had neck pain, like a stiff neck/top of shoulder. It comes on all of a sudden and lasts a few days. This last bout she started off with the neck pain but then a few days later, it spread down into her shoulder, down her arm and into her fingers. She was in agony. She has been taken anti inflams and pain killers, icing etc. This started a few weeks ago. At the moment she has limited movement of her arm; it hurts her at the shoulder and when she tries to lift it above her head. She has trouble cleaning her teeth, washing her hair etc etc. She says she has a deep, dull ache of a night and although she is off the pain killers during the day, she is back on them of a night. She also has one or two hard round  lumps about an inch below her armpit. She can just about feel them when sitting but when lifting her arm above her head, they are much more prominent. The GP isn't really interested. She is waiting for physio. Has anyone got any ideas and why the lumps are there?

Thanks very much to anyone who replies.

    Has she had a mammogram?

Please have her get a mammogram ASAP! A lump could be very serious! There should be places that will give out free mammograms. Check into this real soon! I'll be praying for your friend too! Give it to our Lord Jesus Christ! He is our Strength, Provider, and our Healer! Trust and have Faith in Him! God bless!

I would have her do that immediately. Before worrying about shoulder, it could all be connected. A lump is nothing to mess with.
