Neck, body, and sinus pain.

Every morning I wake up I feel this overwhelming aching sensation from my back to my stomach that almost leaves me unwilling to get out of bed. It seems to get better as the day progresses but it is quiet debilitating first thing in the morning. This is accompanied by neck pain that has plagued me for countless months now. Tension mainly on my left side of my neck that can be felt when turning my head to the left and on the front of my neck i feel a discomfort as if it is extremely swollen but when asking friends or family they see nothing out of the ordinary. I also have a weird sinus issue that I have never had in my life. One day i sneezed and had a large mucusy clot of some sort come out of my nose that led me to the emergency room. Still to this day I get random bouts of excess mucus drainage (mostly clear), sometimes rubbery in substance, postnasal drip leaving my voice raspy, and pressure and numbness in my cheek and lips which sometimes makes it feel awkward when trying to speak. I've been to the GP several times where he tells me he cant find anything, blood test normal, EBV titers very high, but all lymph nodes, neck, stomach (mostly spleen), feel very normal. Wondering if anyone else has experienced any of the symptoms above?

    Hi Ryan,

I was diagnosed with EBV last spring and I still randomly have bouts of post nasal drip where it feels like I need to clear my throat a lot or if I sleep on my back I will feel mucus in my throat in the morning. It comes and goes and my doctor seems to think it's allergies. Flonose does seem to help, but I never had this issue prior to EBV.

Hi Olivia - Yeah I agree, I have never had allergies before but my gf, who has always been effected by them, seems to think that's what i'm experiencing. I had been using a neti pot for months but it never went away. The mucus is almost a different consistency then ive ever experienced. I went to an ENT who did an endo up to my throat and didnt see anything so i was left bewildered. Clearly its coming from somewhere lol. I am a believer that this all started from working in a moldy office for 2 years that flared up a sinus infection and reactivated my EBV and created a world of other bodily symptoms. Have done anti biotics, neti, flonase, etc no luck.
