Neck/joints ache -- anyone else? What have you tried?

I feel like a creaking gate, as one perimenopausal writer I read put it 😕
I've been using magnesium cream and think it's possibly helping. Well, possibly a placebo effect. Anyone else creaking?

Hi cat, yes. Sometimes I can feel every tendon in my body just tightening up at the same time. Any that were previously injured hurt like fire when this happens (the left neck/shoulder where I fell off a horse 30 years ago; The foot I sprained severely when taking my daughter to school one day; my right shoulder that did all the sports things when I was young).
I just started taking glucosamine yesterday... will let you know how that works out.
Let us know how the magnesium cream works too...
Good luck!!

Thank you so much for sharing. An orthopedic surgeon did mention that cervical (neck) pain is common at our age, not just because of peri, but just wear and tear. We feel the effects of our posture and strains during our daily activities more.. 😕
I've been taking glucosamine too, for some time now actually... I think I just continue taking it in faith haha.. The magnesium cream I use as and when; it seems to have an effect, but it may be a placebo effect -- many swear by it though! I tried the magnesium spray too, but that just seemed oily and really ineffective. Perhaps it was just that particular brand. Have you tried curcumin (turmeric) for inflammation?
Hang in there!!

I have not tried turmeric yet, but I did just look up some good turmeric recipes so I can add some to my diet before I try it in supplement form. I like to try one thing at a time, so in case I have a weird reaction I know what to eliminate.
Have you tried turmeric yet? I would love to hear any info about it from you (or any of you fine ladies here).

Yes, I've been taking turmeric for some time now, originally because of some nerve injury several years ago. I do believe it helped that because that's all healed and fine now, praise God, so I'm just continuing with it for what it's worth! I don't know how much effect it really has on wear and tear though, and estrogen apparently plays a part in all this too, so.. sigh. Some days it all makes me quite emotional : (

I'm so sorry : ( And I hear you. Perhaps a bit of walking? Have you tried cat/cow pose? Look it up (but of course don't do it if it worsens the pain). Is Menopace any good?

Yes, in theory replacing that estrogen does sound like it would be such a help. Yet there seem to be some pretty big side effects involved and all the older women I've ever spoken to on the subject (including my Mom) have been against it. I really wish there was some safe magic pill to deal with this cos honestly, the achy joints are just one of a bunch of other discomforts and all told they're really testing my limits....
