neck pain

Hi All

I was diagnosed in jan 2016 with fibro.  I had 3 weeks of pain, flare up again in feb 2016 and again now in sept 2016 a bad flare up.  Returned to work today after being off for 1 1/2 weeks and guess what neck is terrible again.  Doc now signed me off for 3 weeks, referred to physion, reffered to occ health at work, more meds to try.  I feel very isolated now. I know getting signed off isnt the answer but as I am a carer its hard to do my job.  I didnt choose to get this condition. I just wish there was more support at work.

I no how u feel. I was at occupational health last year and it really helped for when I was at breaking point but this term (I work in a school) I have the head teacher as the class teacher I assist and I feel I don't get using my micro breaks. I got told off for using the loo as we all no ibs is part of fibro, being spoken to that was caused more stress and I've ended up so stressed I have a flare up too. And to top it all off I fell down a hole last Friday and now I'm being treated for a suspected fractured leg sad. I'm out now for 2 weeks. Sorry for the rant lol.

Back to if it was me I'd push for it I was almost not going to go back to work this year but as fate had it I'm out now with my leg. People don't understand how hard it is for us. Just because they can't see it doesn't mean weren't feelin anything.

I have a pip assessment next week so if I'm lucky I can consider cutting my hours right down.

    Take care

    Xxx

Hi sorry to hear about your troubles.  Its awful that people done understand. I agree being spoken to adds unwarranted stress as I also have been threatend with the loss of my job due to my flare ups thus making me stress as to whether I have a job or not.

      Take care and thanks

R U on any medication & on what? Concerned for U. Unfortunately this disease/condition does not discriminate on age etc.... Your young, too young Unfortunately. I am retired after 9 yrs. 1st were the intolerable migraines 2 or 3 a day every day. The usual run around we people with fibromyalgia not yet diagnosed get with Dr's wait time for appts, etc.., Guinea pigs with meds etc. Get back with us, we want to hear more details ok?

HI Cheryl.  Thanks for your message.  I am on amitriptyline which has now been uped, now on garbapentin for a few weeks, Blood pressure meds too and co codamol when necessary. Have been on other various meds at times too. My amitrip dose has been trebled pretty much so I am hoping by taking high dose of that and garba it will sort this out for me.  I want to work.  I am not the type to sit and do nothing although like now its a struggle to do anything but i stress about not doing it aswell.  Catch 22 isnt it?

I've had Fabriomyalgia for years now and had to give up working, I didn't know how I was going to be from one day to the next, it's hard to accept that you can't work, I've looked into working from home to flexitime, however I was never able to keep promises and deadlines so I just had to accept it. Now I'm bored to tears and can get very down, however there is nothing I could try xxxx

Ow Trisha I am so sorry. That's my fear of having to give up work. I'm not ready for that yet. It's hard became you don't

Know how you are going to be each day. I can manage mostly until I get a flare up like this. I'm hoping taking a different job

May help me well in fact that's docs advice to get out of my job . I think if it's anything to strenuous that's what causes more

Pain for me in addition to what I may have. My consultant told me I must pace myself which I now realise I must do otherwise I'm crippled

Up. I wish more people understood our condition. Could you try. Voluntary work at all? Xx

I tried that however our condition can make us very unpredictable so therefore I don't tie myself to any definite jobs or tasks, I hate letting anyone down, however I can't help it xxxx

Bless you. I understand that too. I don't like letting people down

either. That's why I'm hoping for myself a less strenuous job may

Be the answer for me. If there was more understanding it would

Be easier. Today personally I can't be bothered so I am having a day

      In bed. Xx

HI All. A little update on my health.  Doc has signed me off now until mid  november.  Pain is  not getting any better sadly, got a physio appt for 18th oct.  Apparently it can take up to 6 weeks for these meds to work.  I am so down as I really dont know what job if any I can do.
