Neck Pain after SLAP surgery

I started experiencing neck pain on my right side 2 months after SLAP surgery that I had to have in Aug. of last year due to an assault at work. I haven't had any pain in my neck since 2004 when I went to see my doctor. I believe that because of my injury and having to have the surgery, it aggravated my neck which caused this constant pain I've been dealing with for almost 4 months! I went to pain management today, and he says it couldn't of come from the injury, and I can get epidural injections, but it wouldn't fix it. When I asked him where did this pain come from if I haven't had ANY PAIN like this before & it happened AFTER the surgery! I knew I had some arthritis in my spine, but NO PAIN WHATSOEVER SINCE 2004! I don't want any injections, because I had some problems with weight gain back in 96 from epidural injections, and I was very stressed out. I just don't care for steroids! The spine doctor's assistant agreed to let me have therapy first; which I liked better. The top of my shoulder going around the back has been painful with a burning sensation too the last few days. All this has caused me to be stressed out and so frustrated!

I have an attorney that is handling my case. This is due to an assault of students from work. I went to see my Orthopedic surgeon today, and he said after looking over my MRI's, xray and all the notes, he felt he should go back in and get rid of the scar tissue and freeze the bursa so I don't have anymore scar tissue again, and have more ROM. He also said it would help with my pain, and that the pain in my neck was due to my shoulder. I just want to get better so I can do the things I enjoy; working with the little kids & being pain free! Thank You for your words too. I know God has my back, and things will go the right way!

If you have an attorney dealing with your case perhaps should ask the lawyer if it's ok to keep posting about you situation. Would hate to have posts jeopardize anything for you. Stay calm and get started with rehab. Good luck.

Thank you. I don't feel that I'm saying anything wrong. I should be able to share my own feelings about what I've experienced or am going through with someone. Talking things out with others besides those close to you helps, because I don't want to hold so much in, and I don't like going to a psychologist. I'm not saying anything against anyone. I just got hurt doing something I love doing, and I miss doing that because of my injury. I just want to get better, and be able to go back to the things that makes me happy!
