    Hi koutaiba01094

We note from a recent post which you have made to our forum that you may be experiencing thoughts around self-harm. If we have misinterpreted your comments then we apologies for contacting you directly. But if you are having such thoughts then please note that you are not alone in this, and there are people out there that can help.

If you are having these suicidal thoughts then we strongly recommend you speak to someone who may be able to help. The Samaritans offer a safe space where you can talk openly about what you are going through. They can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen.

Their contact details are on our patient information leaflet here: https://patient.info/health/dealing-with-suicidal-thoughts, which also offers lots of other advice on how you can access the help you may need.

If you are having such thoughts then please do reach out to the team at the Samaritans (or the other people detailed in our leaflet) who will understand what you're going through and will be able to help.

    Kindest regards

    Patient

Sounds like GERD/hiatus hernia. Is the poking sensation an itchy feeling in his throat and a feeling of wanting to clear his throat?Burning sensations in your throat sounds like acid reflux. Your brother should not worry or feel depressed. If it is either of these conditions, they are treatable. Has had an endoscopy? He should try a food diary to see if a food is causing it and avoid rich, spicy and fatty foods. He could also try antacid medication or milk. I have acid reflux and it didn't show up on endoscopy. It sounds more like a gut problem than neuropathic. He should keep going back to his doctor. Other conditions to look for are h pylori and gastritis.

as i said there was nothing physically wrong with him , by all means , all type of scans ,

the latest update from his doctor that it might be a nerve issue , sonething called the ninth nerve , what gives him this poking , everytime he swallow , and the burning not acid, like u got thorn inside the through , this type of poking and burn

Has it been described as a type of neuralgia and has treatment been offered? I have neuralgia in both arms and hands and recently in my feet and leg, all as a result of injuries. If it is neuralgia, there isn't a lot that can be done other than low dose anti depressants or anti convulsants that can cause nasty side effects.

every thing was checked , nothing as u described , it is only in the throat area , which led to believe it is the ninth nerve , xray and mri , showed nothing

I read up on the ninth nerve problem, and it describes it as a form of neuralgia/nerve problem. Doctors sometimes call neuralgia, nerve pain. You will find other terminology too such as neuropathy which means the same thing as neuralgia or nerve pain. There are many types and causes of neuralgia.

what about physio, osteopathy, see a chiropractor etc Hope that helps. xx

Unfortunately, physical exertion worsens the back and neuralgic problems I have. I tried chiropractors and I ended up having a huge immune reaction to it along with severe pain. I was quite unwell for nine months because of it. The only things that help to reduce symptoms are heat and anti inflammatory pain killers.
