Neck tension

Hi I do suffer with health anxiety but it’s been brilliant lately. So the only problem is my neck feels so stiff and tense and aches could this just be anxiety. I never seem to be able to relax my neck and shoulders. Any advice would be greatfull x

I have almost constant neck and shoulder pain. The muscles get really tight and painfull and even causes some numbness or tingling in my arms. Sometimes my arms hurt too. Maybe a regular massage might help? My partner tries to massage my shoulders regularly but I'm also waiting for a physio appointment. If it doesn't improve soon then I'm gonna ask my doctor for an MRI coz it is possible there could be a trapped nerve or something.

Ya it prob is tension and stress. All mine started during pregnancy which can cause pain and muscle problems sometimes but my son is nearly a year old now so I think maybe it is tension. I'm always stressed lately lol.

Sounds like your anxiety is causing you to hold your tension in your neck and shoulders. Try flexing and rolling your neck and shoulders for a while. Then try some meditation. Start with your toes and count to five and work your way up your body. That might help.

Definitely try to keep your posture right. Keep your shoulders down! Thats a big help! If you dont, neck tension  starts to cause tension headaches. Ive suffered from them for over a year and they are worse then a migrane!
