Need a hip replacement

I have hip dysplasia and I am 41. The pain is getting worse and I am having terrible headaches when I work out. I just do not know how long I should wait to get the surgery. I am a single mom and the recovery feels overwhelming. Any input?

most surgeons that recommend hip replacement surgery will advise when your ready you will know. that was in my case in my early 40's that i was tired of the pain, the restrictions on every day life and i just wanted a better quality of life. one thing the surgeon stressed was good bone was important for thr surgery. so he didn't want a lot of complications to the joint in order to give a good long term outcome. after about 10-12 weeks most hippies are pretty stable by then to move on with life.

hi, I had hip dysplasia and waited until I was on high doses of medication and mobility zero and got to age 45 Big mistake. should have done sooner. now living my life pain free and fully mobile. Best thing I ever did. was back at my office job within 4 wks. had both hips done 12 months apart.
