Hi all 😃 just over a week ago I went to my doctors. I have been on citalopram for 18 weeks and still was not feeling much better I was onon 20mg. And he switched me to setraline but first he wanted me to drop to 10 mg of citalopram for a week. Today is supposed to be the day I change. BuBut after having a few withdrawal symptoms on the 10mgof citrelpram I feel slightly better in myself I mean only slightly but it feels like a step forward. Now I'm unsure weather to change to setraline tonight or carry on with 10 mg of citrelpram for a little longer..

Hi Ryan,
Personally My thoughts are as follows. .
If you were not seeing any noticeable benefit from Cit after 18 weeks it's probably not right for you.
The fact that you are now tapering off at 10mg and have had a good day is hardly conclusive evidence the Cit is working.
However. . .
It won't hurt anything to continue taking 10mg of Cit for a few further days and see how you feel before deciding whether to move to Sertraline or stay on 10mg of Citalopram.
I am not a doctor so best to discuss your long term plan with your GP.
Peace 🙏

I hope this will help you.
I was on 30mg citlapram for several years, it did help a small bit, but I still felt low. After a family trauma I hit a bad low .
Dr change me. I just stopped 30mg Citlapram one day and started 50 Sertraline next day. After 8 weeks Dr increased me to 100mg. been on this 6 weeks and now feeling much more positive, although still getting some negative thoughts.
My Doctor advised me to try Sertraline as in his experience he had seen more success with Sertraline.
Hope this helps you decide. if you get side effects try and ride with them. mine is getting less.

Dont get anxious about side effects. you probably will get some?, i did .
Try and ride with them and tell yourself they will pass, its only temporary.
if you feel heart beating just sit it will pass. Lie on couch say this is lovely Im ok.
Im 2 months on 50mg and 6wks on 100mg. still getting Tension Head aches and heart flutters and odd frightening thought but a lot less.
And a depression a lot less .
Im more motivated , not so tried, sleeping ok.
It takes time. I know Im improving .
You need to take Dr advice and see how you go.
I met 2 people at the surgery who are on Sertraline and doing well.
Good Luck.

I have not switched yet buddy. Im trying 10m10mg for a few more days. Try not to think about side effects. Or what you read. When I first started citrelpram I only felt a little sick from time to time. And if you work your self up. You may placebo effect side effects. But I'm sure you will be fine dude 😃
