My daughter was diagnosed in august with CFS, she's had 2 viruses since december, this one is lasting for over 2 weeks, she's really struggling to get over it, is this normal or is there something she needs to take? Many Thanks

It’ll be normal, unfortunately it does take a toll even with “normal people sickness” do everything you would normally with a cold/flu it’s just part of it I’m afraid.. obviously ensure she’s getting enough vitamin C and rest and encourage her to pace herself .. never do too much too soon, her body will only need longer to recover everytime ..

    Hi Theresa

Sorry to hear your daughter also has this awful disease.

Fortunately I don't pick things up very often, but when I do it goes on for a couple of months and hits me really hard. Everyone is different, but in general, considering others I know with ME , we all tend to struggle for at least a few weeks. Some even several months. Even some healthy and well people can take a few weeks or longer to recover from viral infections. They run their course . I hope your daughter feels better from this soon x

A friend of mine had Aussie flu start around Christmas time. She ended up in hospital over New year for a week as she has a tendency to asthma and her breathing was affected.Otherwise completely fit and well previously. We are now in April and she is still not fully recovered. She was recently unwell again and put it down to the after effects from the flu.
