Hi all 😃 been on citalopram for 20 weeks now. We no real success. But over a week ago went to see my gp. And she switched me to setraline. But first wanted me to cut down to 10mg of citrelpram first for a week. Now on the 10mg I felt good tbh like things wear getting better. So decided to stay on 10mg but today I have had a really bad day a massive panic attack 😦. And feel dreadful. Now should I switch to the setraline? Or stay on the 10 mg of citrelpram. Just need a little advice please

It could be a blip (setback). During recovery its normal to feel good and then feel awful again - you'll get these blips throughout. That's normal. Maybe give the Citalopram longer the as you've started to feel ok. Worth giving it more time since you've come this far. You'll get these blips on Sertraline too - all medicines seem to follow the same pattern.

It can take some people 6-9 months and even longer to feel well. The blip will pass - there'll be more though. Its how recovery seems to work.

yoyoing with your milligrams is just going to make you feel more yucky.stick to one dose is much kinder to your system.

    Hey Ryan,

Listen to KATE and LOIS. I agree with them. Give it more time. I'm on 10 mg and it took me 7 months to recover. Good luck ans keep us posted with what you decide.

      Hi Will,

at your 5th month on CIT did you have blips of feeling anxious ? anxiety?

Do you feel eating sugar, choc, caffeine plays a role in feeling anxious?

      HI lori!

yes I did. definitely cut all that out for a month. if i craved sweets I would eat whole wheat brown sugar squares limit 3 of them. And popcorn. It was hard but it helped alot. I even get some very mild morning anxiety still. Its from my 1 cup of coffee and its 3/4 decalf. I also walked every day for 30-45 min. I feel tgat helped me alot. Keep me posted how you are doing.

NO I was going to but thats when i found this forum and after reading and talking with people who recovered on 10 mg I chose not to. You just have to have patience and work with it. For me it finally worked after 7 months. I forgot when you started it?
