Need ear infection advice

Posted , 4 users are following.

Y'all, I have an ear infection in my right ear that keeps coming back. I took a z pack for it the first time then some ciprofloxacin and now it's back. I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa so I'm limited on antibiotics.

It's a middle ear infection and it's making my head feel terrible - as if menieres doesn't do that enough already.

I'm calling my PCP in the morning but idk what else to do. Does anyone have any home remedies? I know not to put anything in my ear so I'm not going to do that but any other ideas?

I got desperate and ordered an ear candle. I hear they help but I've never used one before.

I currently hav an earache have had it past two weeks.. Seen so many doctors an ent one aswell but they say its nothing.. I keep away from putting stuff in my ears eg oil, drops etc as they freak me out.. But i hav recently seen on loads of pages that lavender oil and tea tree oil diluted and rubbed on the back of your ear works.. Never put it in your ear.. Just gently massage at the back.. You can even put a few drops of each on a cotton wool an pop that into your ear.. It somewhat soothes the pain.. I have been in agony but them few drops on cotton wool popped in your ear work for some time.. Give it a try.. I still have the pain but not as bad.. Let me know how you get on! Hope you feel better soon

I actually expected them to give me ear drops and they didn't I was surprised too. I'm not sure why. That's what I'm used to having from back in the day.
