    Hi there

I have just read your post It is just a set back start trying to think positive you do get set backs what experiences are you getting when you wake up I have a lot of night that I wake up every hour and wonder what is going on. Do you suffer with palpitations when you wake up. I have been on sertraline for 9 weeks and I still have bad days as well.

Hi Sarah, thanks for replying. I experiece palpitations a lot, i had them all last night for hours on end but was feeling a bit better at bedtime.I also experience feeling breathless where i have to keep yawning or taking deep breaths.I think i suffer more during the night because there is no distraction, i can usually make myself feel a bit better during the day cleaning, ironing or dealing with my kids, although today i a am really struggling. I know a lot of people suffer but i have never actually met anyone like me I would just love to be normal, do you feel this way sometimes?

    jinxy,

you would surely benefit from doing some yoga exercises. there are plenty of good books in the library on this. look under \"pranayama\" in the library catalogue. this will also probably help with the palpitations and anxiety as a whole.

    Hi Jinxy,

Anxiety, stress and depression are siblings, and it is not good to ignore or simply try and cope with any of them. In Australia there are a number of good medications available over the counter for anxiety, and they contain ethanol. I understand ethanol is not allowed in UK medications. Perhaps there is a substitute which works equally well?

The thing with stress and anxiety is that they both contribute to sleep deprivation or disturbed sleep, which in turn exacerbates both. Please seek help from your GP or pharmacist, and don't take no for an answer. Keep asking until you find someone who will prescribe something for short term relief so you can get some restful sleep and attack the primary cause/s.

    Kind regards
