I have seen couple of doctors as of today. I have severely swollen lymphoid tissues in my throat. Non of the doctors have seen such a case in their whole life. The swelling is a mystery. Right now I'm put on antibiotics and steroid just in case. If it's a symptom of Sjogren's syndrome or some other disease, if you know any case of severe swelling please let me know. It's important for me. I can attach a picture if needed.

I have a mysterious illness, many of the same symptoms.  Difficulty swallowing, and feeling of throat closed up.  Also have "asthma attacks" but they really are my throat not my lungs really.

Anyway, I have 115 for SSA antibodies, with normal being <100.  The expert rheumatologist says it is not Sjogren's - yet I have many symptoms including cognitive symptoms (and quick clotting time).

Back to the thread, I have used Carafate for throat issues in the past, and it seems to help.  I also have found that the only thing that seems to help almost all of my symptoms is prednisone or a Medrol pack.  I am hoping to go on a trial of a small amount of prednisone every other day.  INADAYNMP, but I know what you all mean by feeling of throat closing.

I also found that sugar free Lifesavers make my throat feel better.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I take 4mg of prednisone a day or else I'm in so much pain that I can't move. Dr says that low o dose should not be harmful.  Linda
