Need help. Should I drop Prozac?

Hello, so I am not 100% certain if prozac is to blame but I constantly have bad constipation problems from prozac I think. I would say my diet is not to blame, I eat a decent amount of fruits and fiber in my diet but constipation is still a constant struggle to me. I have been taking prozac 20mg for four years now and for the past month i've been having this problem. I recently dropped it to 10mg but it is still an issue. Its become such an annoying issue that I am starting to think I should drop prozac completely. What do you guys think?

Thanks

I would consult your doctor before you stop or change your AD meds.  Coming off of these medications can be a real pain.  Usually you want to work with your doc and slowly wean yourself.  Very very slowly...  Good luck!

Def speak with your doctor however Prozas has been reported to cause issues with stomach and bowl movements however these are usually gone within the first few months

Whoops, forgot to mention that my GP was okay with me dropping prozac if I wanted to. If prozac is indeed the cause then the side effects for constipation for me have gotten to a point where I would rather just drop it completely. My constipation recently has gotten so bad that my usual prune juice didnt do the job so I had to use an enema, not a good time.

I can only imagine, it must be bad.  Just remember when dropping off Prozac you may want to seek some guidance from  your doctor.  Coming off of ADs can be a real nightmare.  Certainly don’t go cold turkey.  I did that and about ended up in ER.  Sheesh!
