New here and hoping someone can help me understand all of this. Long story short had an MRI done and I logged into my portal to see if the results came back and they did however my dr. is on vacation for another week. And I don't know what any of this means. I'm just really nervous, Does anyone have any input on this:
There is a t2 hyperintense lesion right lower pole renal lesion which also demonstrates t1 hyperintensity on non fatsaturated t1 weighted images wihout appreciable internal enhancment mesuring up to 10 mm.
In and out phase images demonstrate mild fatty infiltration of liver. There is a region of disproportinote signal loss on out phase imaging adjacent to the falciform anteriorly mesuring 1.5 cm compatibale with fatty infiltration. Post contrast images discole relative hypoenhancement in this region likely reflecting a vascular phenonimon. ??I wish I had an appoitment sonner but he is on vacation. And I happen to look pn my patient portal and saw this. Does anyone have any idea what any of this means?
Thanks in advance.

Do you know what, none of us are doctors on here so none of us are qualified to read such results. Also results are reported differently in the UK that the US. We offer advice based on personal experience, and although information can be found on the net it is not always correct and can cause more harm and worry than need be. I know your Dr is away for a little while but my advice to you is wait until they get back and ask them. They are the best to advise and treat you. The very best of luck

sorry to hear the doctor is on vacation hasd a similar experience it really disappointing.
For translating the results are really best to ask if the doctor has a doctor than can be referred to you to go over the results of the test.
They are quite complicated to understand in laymen terms.
Its quite difficult to wait not knowing the results.

Thank you so much. Just your kind words made me feel better. The worst part is waiting. I did find out today that the one on my kidney is a 1cm complex cyst and they are doing another scan in 3 months. But again I only learned it by looking in my file. I don't even know what a complex cyst is, but very worried because I remember my mom had same thing and they told her to retest in 6 months and by then her entire kidney had to be removed because it was cancer. And 2 other immediate family members have kidney issues. I'm hoping he doesn't tell me to follow up in 3 months like my mom because I saw first hand what happen to her. It's hard to get them to listen to your concerns. 💕💕

Hi Lisa ask for the doctor to take a biopsy.
see on U.K. patient information the technique for taking a kidney biopsy using a hollow needle. Can ask if they can take it from the cyst.my aunt had it done and she was 83. Luckily all was ok. They needed to do scans on the cyst to see if they are growing if it need to be removed for various reasons.
The story about your mom broke my heart. My sympathies for your loss. They always stay in our hearts and we miss them every day! Their memories live on thru family.
Keep posting on how your doing ,
Peace & Healing
