I am a 24 year old of a rather healthy build my height to weight to BMI are where they should be no high blood pressure or anything yet. I have been am avid smoker for 10 years and moderate drinker for the past 7 years I have taken part in other types of drugs but never for a consistant amount of time. The only procedure I've had was the removal over my appendix due to appendicitis. Now that that's taken care of tonight after a (what I would call) a regular night of drinks I returned home with a sharp pain in my chest and right shoulder I was wondering if it is something I should be imminently concerned about? Any help or anyone who has dealt with such problems would be greatly appreciated

You are 24 and say you started smoking at 14 and drinking alcohol at 17 and you say you arrived home tonight with chest pains.
Tonight? What country are you in because it is currently 10am in the UK.
If you want a serious answer, then stop drinking alcohol & stop smoking. Do not take any illicit drugs.

You're probably fine mate. Don't listen to negative people. We all have our vices. I smoked for a similar time 14-24. Gave up and have had problems with tension ever since. This is manageable but it can move around and make you think all kinds of health concerns. Don't be suprised if the doctor says its anxiety and offers anti depressents like sertroline or citalopram.
These can help but i would suggest looking into your diet and lifestyle.
You don't have to give everything up for ever but you may have to do an elimination diet and see how your body reacts when you reintroduce stuff.
This could take a a while or not. I'm still a work in progress myself. I have good days, great days...and not so good ones.
Its time to look after yourself. Good luck.

I had chest pain, right across my chest, more uncomfortable when I tried to lie down, scary I know, DO NOT IGNORE, well worth having someone giving you the all clear, or no issues.
Mine after about 12 hours of tests and drugs, they felt it was probably caused by a virus, and some serious anti-inflammatories solved the problem, but having had it once I would recognise it again, but hopefully not.
