Need more understanding of My hysterectomy

Hello Ladies,

I'm 27 years old. With two wonderful baby boys. I just had a hysterectomy done on June 14, 2018. And I'm having like a lot of irritation and burning around my belly button, very bad cramps(hurt more then having my two kids) from my belly on down.. My doctor said it's normal and she thought I was being a "softy".. But turned around and put me on antibiotics and gave me different pain medication. So I was feeling like she think I only want pain pills(don't use drug/or drink). And not really listen or understand. So I'm like lost still in pain..

It was lipo scopic hysterectomy and also to remove a hernia. And was giving a 6 week restrictions no pool, no sex just rest. Which I have not been doing. Because like I stated earlier I have two small kids 4 year old and a 1 year old. My husband works night shift. So realistic I really could not rest.

That's the problem hun.. You are not allowing body to heal.. It's paramount you heal right for yourself and your precious babies.. Can you get some help lovely? I had tvh and repair in January so I know what it's like. I couldn't of done it if I didn't have completed rest.xx

Welshgirl67, well to be honest. My husband works at night.. so it's only me and my kids during those hours.. But I have learned the hard way. With not allowing my body to heal .. the cramps are very hurtful.. That whole recovery part is driving me crazy. Because I'm the type of mother I can't seat around and not tend to my kids, or house needs. Because I started to become depressed those first two days.

I was told lift nothing heavier than a kettle, just bet you are trying to get on with normal life, go a little slower, and do not lift any weights, incl your babies, sit down, and let them come to you, tell them mummy is hurting and we all have to look after mummy until she gets a little better, be positive with them and tell them it will be only a little while, not that a little while really helps little ones understand, just keep reinforcing that you are in pain and it will get better.

Hi I think you have basically done too much you need to rest you do not want to set yourself back. I actually cancelled one operation that was offered to me at first because I knew I wouldn't have anyone to help me, and with 2 small children it's probably twice as hard for you, can't your husband take some time off work so that rest and help you?

Yes it's very hard. And no they will not Allow him to take off time. because his company is already short of stuff.. to be realistic my two boy's. Have been having me on my toes. But when I start to feel heavy pain I sit down for a while. Then continue maybe lime ten minutes later. And I also did not want my husband to feel like he have to do everything

So I been cooking, cleaning, and playing with my boys. Which I pay for it later. 🤔

    Hello Jekeysha.

This sounds as if your moving around too much. You also mentioned that you have (2) children. I suspect, if your children are small, you may be bending. Give your body a chance to heal. The healing process is lengthy. I made the same mistakes and my recovery was not easy.

    Please listen to your doctors.

I truly understand how you may believe that you ought to be doing more by this time. Trust me, you’ll slow down your recovery process.

    Hugs to youbiggrin)(

I’m so sorry to hear that. My hysterectomy was done abdominal. But I also had a half hysterectomy last October. I felt like you. My B.B. hurtes a lot. No you’re not been a softy we all have different body Jrs and we know them. This last hysterectomy my dr told me the same about me been in so much pain in my cut and thought I was exaggerating. Not about the pills. Just tell her it’s about you and how you feel. I hope you feel better.

Thanks so much Rebeca80492.. I'm so glad I found this Wed site. Because I'm the first in my family to have this surgery done.. And every one don't understand the feelings that I be explaining to them.

    Hi,

I had total hysterectomy (ovaries removed) If  your doctor have seen you and said its normal,  trust him/her.  I also had a stubbing pain in the 2nd week and sent to hospital for exams ang its good and normal. Even until now (6th mos) sometimes my belly bottom is sore.  No worries,  it wont do good for you have a follow up check up with your doctor/surgeon.  No pushing/lifting and hard chores for now.  You take care.  I know how you feel.  🙏😇

Hi, my name is Sonia and I read your post and the sweet responses from everyone.  I just had a partial hysterectomy 3 days ago and in so much pain I had to go back to the ER.  My surgeon was very understanding and compassionate and prescribed stronger pain medication.  I’m home now for the long recovery process.

How are you doing now?  I have 1 & 4 year old granddaughters so understand how physically demanding caring for young children is.  I hope and pray you are feeling much better.
