my anxiety was really bad a couple years ago & it calmed down for 2 years & now its getting really bad again ive had to go back on my tablets which are 50mg sertraline & 40mg propropolol. (ive been on these for 2 weeks now) i feel really panicky everyday i struggle to go to work or go out & do other things even as simple as going to the shop. i always worry about my breathing like am i breathing to quick or to slow then i try always catch an extra breath or force myself to yawn to get a similar satisfaction. then im finding myself doing it again a few seconds later and its like this all day. my chest goes tight & my throat feels closed up my hands go all clammy & i start to feel really spaced out like im not with it at all (which makes me panic in itself) i dont know what to do or how to deal with it. i cant keep going on like this i need something to make it stop!!!

Hi jake , so sorry you are goingthrough this ordeal .. You could ask your doctor for lorazepam ( ativan ) if you want to , its a mild nerve pill ti relax you from panic .. Until you have an appointment try lemon balm tea its a natural relaxing herb tea , you can buy over the counter . Also if you can take benadryl it helps as well .. Best wishes

Try CBT. Some people it helps a lot. I think it has helped me a medium amount.
One technique I have been trying with a little bit of mixed success is when the anxious thoughts come I label them and "They're just anxious thoughts" and then yell "stop" in my head while imagining a stop sign.
I hope the meds start working a little more as time goes on, two weeks is pretty early. Best of luck, but I think you should look into CBT.

It’s ok, you got through it before, you’ll get through it again (although our anxiety tries to convince us otherwise).
Just keep taking the medication and give it a bit of time to work.
