Hey guys... got a list of symptoms here for you all. My doctors suspect possible IBS. My symptoms are extreme gas. I mean constant. Burping and farting almost all the time. The gas pain creeps into my chest making it feel had to breath sometimes. Stomach pains all over. They used to be one sided (LEFT) now the pain is all over my stomach at times. I get occasional heart burn while burping. My stools are all over the place. Sometimes I have really bad diarrhea. Sometimes it seems normal. Often times I can see undigested food through out it. Sometimes it mushy and floats and other times it is solid and sinks. Sometimes I go days without a bowel movement and other times I go about 1 or 2 times a day. Nothing seems consistent. Sometimes I have blood on the tp. Small amounts. I have had a hemorrhoid in the past. Sometimes it feels like a fart or stool is right at my poop hole and wont come out. But mostly its the gas and bloating and pain. The pain that goes into the chest scares me when it happens. I recently had a endoscopy a few days ago. They said they saw some redness and inflammation down near my stomach and where my intestines begin. They biopsied it and Im waiting to find out the results. They said they wanna do a colonoscopy next. They tried me on the low fodmap diet and it didn't seem to help much. Seems like no matter what I eat it messes me up. To the point that Im afraid to eat half the time. I have lost nearly 40 pounds in 2 months. Unintentional. Does this sound like IBS?? Oh and I have really bad dry mouth and white coated tongue also....

You need more tests and go back to your doctor's. The white tongue is NOT ordinarily an IBS symptom, something else is going on. I hope you get the bottom of this!

HI hank, you have a lot of my symptoms. I have not yet seen a specialist and am awaiting to speak with my Dr tomorrow to see where this goes. We're you on any antibiotics lately? I was 6 weeks ago and afterward traveled to Mexico where I ended up getting worse with diarrhea. It has been 6 weeks since and I had where diarrhea started in morning and the would have normal bowel movement later in day but numerous. Then progressed to chronic diarrhea in the last couple weeks. All this time with gas, stomach pains high and low. Nausea, Gerd acid reflux . I lost 7 lbs on my 116lb 5ft6" frame. Not looking or feeling good. Yellow diarrhea sucks. Taking probiotics and enzymes. No change. Had to quit the metronidazole my Dr prescribed due to horrific side effects after 3 pills. Very disappointed.

My friend mentioned leaky gut could be possible for symptoms because of the white tongue . She goes to a naturopath and said I should mention that to my Dr. It can start with antibiotics and leads to an overgrowth of yeast and bacteria. My an biotic use 6 weeks ago was Augmentin for sinus. Might be worth exploring.

Just reading your post and that pretty much happened to me after i had some stomach viral infection that really messed me up for over a year and a half and I still have mild ibs now. I lost loads of weight, had bad pain, gas, trouble breathing, trouble digesting foods and a white tongue with a dry mouth.
I found following the fodmap diet really helped but it took some time as i was pretty messed up, but this is also a guide as some foods on there did not agree with me. I found my white tongue got worse if I ate anything which wasn't on the fodmap, so baked beans, peas, gave me loads of gas and it would feel like it was pushing up and coming out of the mouth, strange I know but this seemed to cause the breathing issues. I remember one night I woke up choking and remember I had eaten some vegetables which were not on the fodmap diet. Also eating meat sometimes was hard as I had trouble digesting it and had to take digestive enzymes to help.
They put me on anti acids which helped for a couple of months but this made my tongue much worse, so they suspected a gut dysbiosis/possible Sibo in the end which would hopefully sort itself out. I started taking probiotics and following a strict diet which 3 months later really improved everything. The white tongue was bacteria as I was tested for fungi, so this also pointed towards an overgrowth of bad bacteria.
?Stools also can change day to day which doesn't mean anything bad, sometimes mushy, rock hard or nothing at all, which can also cause hemorrhoids if you are constipated and leave blood as you wipe.
It could be a combination of gerd/ ibs but I am not a Dr and it is worth getting more tests to be sure as forums can only give you some advice and personal experiences.

Similar amount of weight loss to you and I could see undigested food when I went to the toilet. I was panicking a fair bit and had ultrasounds, endoscopy, blood tests etc but nothing was found. Was on omeprazole for about 4 months which stopped a lot of the pain in the guts by reducing the acid running through the intestines and then also a restricted fodmap diet. I am still on fodmap now 2 years later so it can be a long term thing. I had to go to physiotherapy to build my muscle back up as I lost so much weight. I wish I had gone on the Fodmap diet earlier but a dietician told me to do it as the Dr didn't really help much.

Well that's crazy man that you lost the amount of weight I have. Its scary as hell. Not knowing whats going on I think is what is causing most of my problem with the anxiety and stress. I am back on the fodmap and the same with me man the dietician Im seeing is the one that put me on it to begin with. they did have me on omeprazole in the beginning but I didn't feel that I had a lot of heartburn and asked to be taking off it. I have only one kidney that functions and had heard that those and stuff like ibuprofen are not good for the kidney. I hope I can find answers soon. The weird thing is that my nutrionalist also had a food sensitivity test done on me. The only food that I am supposedly sensitive to is cinnamon. I don't know man its so confusing
