Need some advice. I feel like I am not going to get better like I was two weeks ago.

I have been on citalopram. 40 mg for about 12 weeks now. The last couple of weeks I was feeling good like I was back to normal. But now since I got a cold and my period is about to start I feel like I am right back to square one and that I am not going to feel good again. Anxiety, panic attacks, and intrusive thought. Uggh please give me some hope. Thank you.

Hi, my period 100% affects my anxiety. In fact this time around I have decided im going to skip the break in my pill and carry on taking this month so I can avoid it! Feeling ill always makes people feel down and rubbish so i would hang in there. Try to think as positive as possible and keep telling yourself once your back to full health you'll feel better mentally to! 12 weeks still early days also remember! you won't be fully recovered in that time and it'll keep getting better 😃 x

      Hey Angela,

I totally understand how you're feeling. While on the road to recovery, its important to remember, the medication takes time to settle in the system. Periods can be extremely difficult as the body adjust to the medication. Intrusive thoughts, which is a side effect of the medication often, can be heightened during this time. Trust and believe, it will settle over time. Youve come really far and the best is yet to come. Swimming, long walks in nature, and positive energy tend to help me when struggling.

      This time will pass!

      Sending out positivity and warm

Angela,I understand how you feel completely. From November 11th untill 3 weeks ago I had a nasty sinus infection. After not being able to get out or do anything around the house from feeling so bad I had your symptoms.I was really down and had angziety terrible.Since I am now well the angziety and depression is gone. You may need to talk to your doctor on how you have been feeling since you havent felt well.I hope you start to feel better from your cold.Take care.xx
