Might I ask if you know if you have obsessive compulsive or general anxiety and panic disorder. I've been told and have heard that for general anxiety and panic 50mg acts as a therapeutic dose and should function just fine. If you have ocd 100mg is the dose to be at.

I was on sertaline for years, went off a few times (both cold turkey which was an awful idea) and went right back on each time and it has worked for me. Since I have ocd my phycitrist told me 100mg was the dose for me. 50mg definitely makes me feel way less anxious but I sill have compulsive tendencies so hopefully 100mg helps those.

But 50mg definitely helps me a lot so if you feel like yourself on 50mg then stay at 50 in my opinion! I hope you feel better soon!

I was told anxiety and panic were harder to treat than depression and the ocd was what caused the repetitive thoughts. They told me 50 was for depression and 100-150 was the normal average for the others

Yes I take 100mg, and it has definitely helped me in the past (I've gotten off a few times and back on) I'm back on 100 and both my cbt therapist and psychiatristhe say that 100 is the dose for me and my ocd. I just start on 100 a few days ago and I'm having some increased anxiety but I noticed I'm not obsessing as much. My therapist said it might take a bit for my anxiety to settle again.

I was definitely feeling better on 50mg but still had the obsessive thoughts so my phycitrist though it would be best to go up to 100mg. So I'm giving it a go since it definitely worked for me in the past. The first week or two might just be a little difficult.

Hi, I'm not a doctor but really think sticking to 100 mg for another week or so is the best idea. Dropping the dose is just going to make you feel terrible again because of the change, if you can stick with it I would. Did she offer you a both anxiety medication to get you over the hurdle. How are you feeling today? From a 1 to 10 1 being the worst

      Hi

I'm sitting here thinking the same should I not just stick with the 100mg,I felt anxious this morning but by this evening I have relaxed

At the end of the day you have to do what you feel is right for you and not what other people tell you, you know your own body and threshold of what you can handle or not. I think this medication is great personally but it really is about finding the therapeutic dose. It took me almost 3 months to sort mine out and felt the same way.

Try looking at drugs.com under sertraline and you can see other people's experiences and dosages. It really reassured me as too as times when they started to work and side effects. But some good advice , only look at the good reviews not the bad ones because you need to see the good out ways the bad. Originally I would not use sertraline because I saw men say they went impatient and I was scared but I never experienced it at all. Thank God lol

I'm glad to hear your going to stick with it. Remember one day at a time and try not to over think it too much. The less you think about if it's working or not the more anxious you will get. Are you in England?
