Need some encouragement - hard day on my dosage increase
Posted , 7 users are following.
I'm on day 13 of a Zoloft increase (from 50 to 75) and it's a tough day (so much anxiety). Just looking for positive stories/words that this is just one temporary step back.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Joanne
Just keep reading here - so many stories where people increase and you’ve got to give it weeks to settle again - just remember the good days - I’m on week 5 today on 50mg ... I’m going o😊in right direction but yesterday was bad like you and I felt good by end of day.... my thought process at both ends of Day was opposite proving it was anxiety fooling your brain... hope you feel better today 😁

Thanks for your encouragement Phil. I'm on week 5 today of 75mg increase from 50mg. Felt awful yesterday and during the night, very anxious and slight return of depression. Your words a reminder of the original side effects and that this has to be got through.
Hi Joanne, hope you feel better today. x

It's a dilemma armelle. I was on 50mg for over seven weeks and felt much better by then, but not completely better and still some side effects. So I increased, not many physical side effects but the emotional side effects have kicked in after three or four weeks, as they did when I started.
The dilemma for me is do I continue with 75mg until all the side effects have gone to see if it is the right dose, or do I increase to 100mg and start over. Seems to me that you can't tell if it's the right dose until all the side effects have gone, which means going up slowly.
Any comments on this from longer term users would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I'm in more or less the same position as you as far as dose
goes. I was told by doc 2 weeks ago to go from 50 to 100 but i chickened out and went to 75. I felt a bit better on 50 than on 75 but I've had a stinking cold and virus thing. I rang docs today and he said to stay on 75 until I feel I want to increase. So im giving it another couple of weeks. I too feel so much better later in the day. I take my sert at 8pm.

Thanks everyone - it is certainly a ride, that's for sure. The day got better and the evening was fairly easy - these anxiety fluctuations are difficult to cope with. I am going to stick with 75 for two more weeks and if it isn't better, I will return to my GP to discuss other options.
Do you find you guys are better working while experiencing anxiety or do you feel that time off helps with your healing?

I’m working and have done since this started last October - I’d drive myself with the stupid thoughts I get

I am having a bit if time off, although with the job I do I don't feel safe working at the moment. I have 2 kids though, youngest is 3 so maybe work is actually easier 😂
