Need some help w/ symptoms

So about 1-2 weeks ago I had a burning pain from swallowing anything or putting pressure at all on my esophagus from burping and etc. The pain started in the middle then also hurt around the left side like 4-5 days later then all of it healed around the 7-8th day. The pain also would hurt my back too.
I am 20 years old and have GERD, obesity, and posture problems around my left and right shoulderblades. That pain I had around a week ago created an extreme level of health anxiety and made me google all kinds of things right away since it was a pain I never felt before. Now I'm in bed most of the day panicky and scared to death of having esophagus cancer or having it happen to me. I have had bad eating habits, acid reflux when i was 9-10ish and pretty sure I got GERD a bit later around 14-15 or so, and now I'm 20 here panicking constantly of having it. Doesn't help articles and whatnot say how more people that are younger are getting it and someone with my exact issues are at risk of it at a younger age.
All the food I eat regurgitates about 5 mins after eating it and I have light nausea symptoms, thought I don't really know the definition of hard to swallow so I'm not sure if it's hard to swallow anything or not. I've wondered if maybe I have a hiatal hernia due to my extreme level of overeating the last 2-3 months since I also tend to feel a bit of pressure on my stomach and have a hard time eating as much too.
I did see my doctor and he said he doesn't think there's any cancer and just raised my dosage of ompremazol to 40mg and said to see him in a month. I have had a bad history with doctors so his words don't really help me mentally much.
I'm scared and not sure what to do and fear getting an endoscopy too since they would put me on something to pass out. I don't know what to do and just keep hoping and hoping I don't have any form of cancer in my esophagus and I'm okay because I really dont want to die or anything.
I just want advise or an understanding on what can help me, because I just keep feeling scared constantly right now.

I'm sorry you are having such a horrible time. I think a lot of these are quite common with GERD but its also worth going back to your doctor if they carry on.
Its really important to change your diet so cut out all the foods that cause reflux. this is typically stuff like chocolate, onion, garlic, coffee/fizzy drinks and spicy and fatty foods. Also - eat 5 small meals a day rather than 3 big ones so your tummy is never completely full or completely empty.
If you are referred for a endoscopy please dont worry . The idea of them is more frightening that the reality. The sedation just settle you down but you are not asleep (you probably just wont remember the procedure). its good for peace of mind because if they find nothing, you can stop worrying, but if they find a little something (like a hernia) then they can help you). I got myself into a massive tizz because despite being on PPIs for months and making diet changes i was still suffering. They found NOTHING.
I hope you find the answers you need. x
