hi Sam, I'm a 20 year veteran of being on sertraline. Are you now in the midst of going up or down in dosage? maybe I can give you some of my experiences as I've had plenty both going up and down on dose.

Hi lisa,
thanks for your reply..
im not doing either Lisa,
im just on 50mg my doctor told me to up the dose after day 15 but im not sure weather too! i amlmost want to wait tosee how this dose goes in like a few weeks! if doesnt do anything then up it..?
ive never taken these before so i really have no idea but i have seen people say you need to wait a while for that dose to see if it works.
sometimes you can up it too quickly!
but i do t really want to, i feel awful now..

hi Sam
its very early days for you. Looking back in my journal i was still having to take valium most days waiting for zoloft to kick in.
and it wasnt really until the 8th week that i saw a shimmer of light but not till weeks 12/13 did i think ... wow... i actually feel pretty ok today.
its a very slow acting drug and patience is the key word.
but its worth it. truly. just hang in there.
i couldnt leave the house for 3 months and now im travelling and housesitting and life is pretty wonderful
i was on 100mg but had trouble with extreme dizziness so dropped down gradually to 50mg and that is my magic dose.
keep going Sam. each day you are closer to being happy again and no panic or anxiety.
i havent had a panic attack in 8months
stay strong. you can do it

Thanks so much Karin,
i feel a little more positive now. its like how can you keep taking something that almost makes you feel worse, its hard to get your head around! and my doctor prescribed me some vallium but i havent taken it yet - i dont want to be spaced out too much
. This is by far the hardest thing riding this trusting that it will work..
its great to have a forum to reach out to other people who have been here - so thankyou i really appreciate your support..

It's your body getting used to the Sertraline - including anxiety. I always had it while going up or down in dosage. Tell yourself that these are side effects (they are) and give yourself some time. One day at a time but know you'll get some equilibrium. It may take a few weeks. Well done for managing to work - you are doing really well.

Hi Sam ,
this should make you feel worse before better , but it worth it at the end trust me , it worked for me 2 times and now im on 150 and it took me 12 weeks to feel normal again . from time to time i get anxious and so but no where i used to be before .
hang in there and try to write a journal to track your feelings day after day it helps .
GOOD LUCK
