Need to know about sertraline

A week ago I was diagnosed with mild depression and started on Serdep 50 (sertraline 50)

Long story, but the short thereof is that I was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma back in 2011. Did six rounds of (hyper cvad) chemotheraphy and since then I have been in remission, but my speech deteriorated then came social anxiety.

The social anxiety we assume because of the speech deterioration. I became very silent and withdrawn at social events and avoided any human contact

So I was started on sertraline.. after the first few days there was noticeable improvement – my social anxiety disappeared, my body temperature also increased (which is nice because I have been very cold these last few years)

It started well – I just experienced sleep problems, I am physically tired, but when I get into bed I am wide awake.. So I recently changed the taking of the pill to mornings. But now my anxiety is back (not half as bad as it was)  also my body temperature crashed again and I am like a block of ice to my wife.

I have read that a lot of users experienced a bad patch before things were super… Am I panicking for nothing? Will things eventually become better again with time? Will I eventually become my normal self again?

keep going ryan, very early days for you

you will experience ups and downs along the way unfortunately.  dont worry though because the end result is so worth it (your life back and feeling good again!)

carry on for 50mg for a month or so, and if necessary you can increase to 100mg after that first month if you dont have any side effects remaining from starting on 50mg (it's best not to increase your dose until any previous side effects have eased.. then it's a case of deciding if the dose you are on is doing enough .. and if not, you can then increase OR give it another month on 50mg if you prefer not to increase, as some people need more time than others to get well again)

Thanks you guys.. It is extremely difficult today - Not a depression sufferer, more social anxiety, but today I am just depressed and dull. I gather this is part of the feel-bad-before-feeling-good part.

Also another thing that is affecting me majorly these days is insomnia.. Will this go away? I probably had 3 hours sleep last night and the night before - is this normal?
