Hi, new here I have been to every hospital in my area for IC for help, I get pain med's that don't do anything gone to two urologists. 4 hospitals and always sent home to rot.  my bladder spasms all day, constant urge to urinate, my bladder burns, my urethra burns like mad. No relief ever,  there are many times during the day it feels like lava coming out of my urethra.  even my vagina burns now and stomach.

I have had soo many rounds of antibiotics and no more infection and it still hurts more than ever.  Its been 3 months now and have not been able to eat for 5 days now, I drink 8 glasses of water and want it out I cant sleep at all and have to sit up all day can barely walk.  My family is fed up and don't really understand at all.  The Dr want me to go to pain management but I am having such a hard time urinating and the side effects of all the drugs make it worse.

I am so frightened and have no idea were to go for help. I am only 51 and used to work out every day and ate really well, now I feel like my life is over.   Was hopping someone had some ideas.

Hi Pam, just read your latest thread. I wanted to point out to please be careful with antibiotics. IC will not respond to antibiotics because IC is not an infection. My gyn told me this when it’s first began. When a urine sample was taken she explained that while I did have some level of bacteria, it was not enough to constitute an infection. The other thing is we know that the overuse of antibiotics can result in auto immune issues. I often wonder if that is what IC is. I have been told by doctors as well as reading, that docs do not know how IC starts and they don’t have any set cure for it. I find it all confusing because we are told to keep to an alkeline diet and also that stress can bring on a flare. On the other hand with little to no clinical trials happening, this is the reason why doctors do what they do. Trial and error or dicey procedures that may or may not work. If you haven’t already studied the foods and bevs to avoid with IC, it might be a good idea to see if it helps you to do that. It helps me but is not always a given. Also, I was surprised to hear you had burning when you tried the baking soda and the aloe. At first I tried drinking the aloe but it was awful so that is when I got the aloe freeze dried capsules. I would also recommend the AZO over the counter tabs. While they are for UTIs primarily, my gyn advised that they do help the burning of IC. I am also going to look online for exercises for IC. Right now, I find that Pilates sometimes helps. Anyway, I hope you and everyone reading has a pain free day.

Hi Pam, sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I use to get pressure when I had to urinate, my problem is pain. One suggestion is not to wear tight clothing, this pushes on your bladder. Also do not lift heavy objects. I read this somewhere on web, and it does seem to help. Watch what you eat and drink. I only drink water and chamomile tea. Boring but I would rather be bored than hurt. I also use ice pack, don't leave it on long, maybe 5 to 10 minutes. Always consult doctor if you try different things. Its really hit and miss, what works for one may not work another. I write down everything, what works and what doesn't. Hope this helps. You will overcome this, I know it's hard long road to travel but there is a ending to this. I read that there is a new drug on the horizon, its aqx-1125 or rospitor I think that's how you spell it. Look it up. It might give you some hope. Take care🧚???
