Needing advice on how to proceed with my taper

On February 6th as I'm sure you all know I broke my left ankle and sprained my right ankle. I had decided after that that I would not try to taper anymore until I was healed up. At that time I thought I had eight weeks but I was way off base. The orthopedic surgeon just informed me today that he wants me to stay off it for 10 weeks starting today. And I've already been at this for 3 weeks. So my question is do you think I'd be okay to begin tapering or should I stay at where I am until I'm all healed? BTW I am at 12 mg right now. And I was using the dead slow almost stop method. (I think that's what it's called).

You taper as you feel you can.  If you are feeling okay other than the injury, why not pick up your slow taper again?  It's possible, as you are probably over the initial trauma of the injury and getting lots of enforced rest, you might even find the taper goes quite well.

Gosh, you'll have to keep off your ankle for about three months altogether!  I hope you have some nice interesting sedentary hobbies....

During this convalescence so far I have had a rash on my back, diarrhea that wouldn't quit, I blew out a hemorrhoid, I had a chest infection and I have had thrush. With all that going on I have not been able to pay much attention to my foot. And frankly it doesn't hurt a bit unless I move it wrong or bump it on something. I'm getting over my chest infection I'm on my second course of antibiotics. My rash is gone and my hemorrhoid is in the process of healing, and my diarrhea is gone finally. I am still battling the thrush though. So as you can see I was feeling pretty rotten for quite a while. Today I probably felt the best I have ever felt since I broke my ankle. I think I'm going to give it a little while longer to make sure I'm all healed up from all the other stuff and then I'm going to start my taper again.

I can't see why you couldn't try the start of a reduction - 1/2mg if you can cut your tablets and the DSNS way would show you how you will react. If it doesn't work you can stop straight away.

But there is no rush - wait until you feel really ready.
