Needing some answers

So I have read several posts here and some seem rather similar to what I'm experiencing... But I still cannot find much peace of mind... I am currently recovering from influenza and was just starting to feel better, and then my sinuses started to feel blocked again, being more severe on the right side. I also noticed my vision in my right eye seemed more blurred than usual. I thought maybe I was getting a sinus infection. Soon my skin around my eye started to feel bruised and then on my scalp on the right side. A couple days later, I noticed my pupil in my right eye was much smaller than my left. I went to Urgent care and the doctors were concerned about my eye and sent me to my eye doctor. Both doctors at my eye doctor's office believe it is shingles causing my troubles and started me on an antiviral medication. They sent me to my medical doctor and also an ophthalmologist. My medical doctor was also concerned about the eye and sent me directly to the ophthalmologist. There I had a series of tests done to my eye including injecting dye to look for leaks in the blood vessels in my eye. These all have come up fine and the ophthalmologist is skeptical about shingles and I was sent on my way. So now, I am sitting here, still having the same symptoms with no improvement. I also feel like I have something blocking my right sinuses and it feels like I have a sore way back up in there. It has been 4 days since I started noticing my sinuses and blurred vision and two since my doctor appointments... Still no rash, no fever, however I am still low on energy, my neck aches, headache, my eye has not improved and is very sensitive to light, my scalp and forehead is still sensitive to touch, like a sunburn, and crawly itchy. How long do I let this go before I go back to the doctor? I don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill, but I also don't want to ignore something I shouldn't ignore....

Hi Pamela please go back to the Opthalmologist and get your eye checked and do not worry about what they or anyone thinks! It's serious when it's your eye. And then go back to your regular doctor or and eye nose and throat doc. Please keep us posted! Diane.

Hi Diane!
First I'd like to thank you for your quick response!!
I took your advice and went to the ophthalmologist that my eye doctor had originally referred me to. (I had gone to the one my medical doctor sent me to.) This doctor actually feels that I may indeed NOT have shingles, but is thinking more along the lines of Horner's Syndrome. I will be seeing a neurologist this week to look into this theory... And I will keep you posted on the findings!
Thank you so much for your advice!!

Hi Pamela I am so glad to hear from you and to hear that you went right away to an Opthalmologist and then to a Neurologist. You don't waste time and I am so thankful for that.
Please please keep me posted. God bless and good luck!
Diane

Hello again!
Well.. Neurologist also did not believe I have shingles. He had the same thoughts on Horner's Syndrome and ordered an MRI. Long story short, he discovered I have a small tear between the lining of my carotid artery... Apparently from coughing so hard when I had influenza... This is what is causing the Horner's Syndrome... so I'm told. So it's not shingles... But my eye still hurts quite a lot, and my scalp is still sensitive and itchy. I am being treated with Plavix and Aspirin 81mg for 6 months...and we are praying for zero blood clots while this heals!
Crazy stuff!!
