needle attack anxiety

SO i have this strange incident happened to me and i have been worried about it for a month now. I was walking through a grocery store and suddenly felt like a sharp, stabbing pain in my right butt cheek . It felt as if some one poked with something sharp, like a needle. It took me a moment to understand and come back to my senses. Then i touched my butt to see if there is anything on it and turned back to check if there was any one behind me. I wasn't quick in reacting and turning back. The pain lasted for a minute or so. I did not find anyone standing right behind me, but like i said i was not quick. I brushed it off thinking it might be something my body did and walked off. Then about half an hour later, I was at another grocery store running some errands and the same pain appeared again. Lasted for like 30

seconds and gone. At this point, i was convinced it was something my body did and did not even care to turn back and see. So i did not even check my pants or butt for blood or needle poke.

3 days later, suddenly it triggered me and i started having intrusive thoughts on what if i was poked with a needle. By this time, my laundry was done and i had some pimple like lumps on butt but since its been 3 days, i wasn't sure if they were just pimples or knots from the needle. My husband said they could be pimples and i was overthinking.

But i have been worrying a lot over this. My father said that if someone really poked me with a needle, there will be too much pain when i walk or sit and the pain will be consistent like for a day or two. I know that when people get shots, they have discomfort in that area. But that's because of the medicine injected, right? I had a very bad headache that day after the incident. I rested and the headache was gone by next morning. WOndering if the headache was just a coincidence or if i was injected with something. The rational part of my brain gives me 2 questions --1. If some one really poked with a needle, they should do it with force and i should be feeling a hell lot of pain that whole day not for a minute.

2. I will not be getting the same stabbing pain again an hour later. It should be a consistent thing.

But the other part of my brain thinks about the "what ifs". What if -- the stabbing pain occured again because of the wound(My toddler bit me the other day and an hour later, i got like a pricking pain at the bite area. This triggered that thought). What if you don't feel the pain once the needle is out of the body. What if the headache was a reaction to something injected into me?

I am confused. Someone plz put some sense into me and help me figure out the facts. This thought has been ruining my life.

No one stabbed you in the bum with a needle. You probably have nerve pain, or a small prickle or something stuck in your pants or underwear, there would have been someone running away if they were going around stabbing people with needles and someone would have seen it happen too.

Youre overthinking this and will send yourself crazy if you keep thinking that way.

There were not many people in there. 1 or 2 may be

sounds more like you had some kind of a nerve pain that came on suddenly. Your overthinking this.that person who you think could’ve done something would have been running away and you or somebody else would’ve seen the person. Plus they wouldn’t do it to just one person because somebody like that doesn’t stop in one person. It would’ve been in the news. Try to relax, you’re fine. I have had those sudden sharp pains randomly somewhere on my body. Stay busy to keep your mind off of it. Don’t let negative thoughts control you. You know the facts. Stay positive!

Hi Mona, Well I am sure you are okay, consider THIS; if someone poked you, it would have hurt worse than that, it would have had to go through your pants & panties and would have left a spot of blood, maybe even a puncture in your clothes, you would have heard/seen somebody running up and/or away(like what Jen & Amz said). Yes, your Dad is right, it would be probably sore for a few days, not a poke sensation that left and happened again later...it sounds like a nerve, twitch or what Amz said, something on your clothes...knots from a needle happen right away, not three days later(consider if someone actually poked you, it would take a few seconds to push fluid into you, not likely... so no lump) You probably got a headache from stress or even something unrelated!! Your husband is right too...you are over thinking it!! Yes there are some evil & cruel people in this world but, there are also MILLIONS more, who are wonderful people!!You cannot allow anxiety to cause panic and allow intrusive thoughts...if this continues to be an issue, you should maybe talk to your Dr or a counsellor...IMO, you are fine, relax and spend some quality time with your family...they sound really logical and caring!! BEST WISHES💒☮🍀💟🌈♾🎶🐾💞
